provides a statewide referral services. It is free to use. The program is formally known as Food and Other Resources (F.O.R.) Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan
provides assistance in the most populous counties, including Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, as well as Wayne. Food Gatherers
is a Feeding America partner location. They only support one county in Michigan, and that is Washtenaw. However there are many assistance programs, ranging from Senior Box Program (CSFP) to Nutrition Education and of course referrals. Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
has programs such as USDA/TEFAP, referrals to emergency food pantries, meals for the homeless and more. This location mainly provides resources to other pantries and churches. Those locations then distribute the food boxes, perishable goods, and holiday assistance to qualified lower income families.
