Christmas Toy Store
in Memphis for in-need children to increase their holiday spirits. It is eligible to those families that participated in the NCC year round program and ensures they can give their child a present to open during the Christmas holidays. Free meals are passed out during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. NCC Compassionate Ministries created the Christmas Meals Baskets program which is the largest in the Shelby County region. In addition to volunteers, money is always needed too. NCC needs to raise the funds to buy the food and to run the program as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Brigance Early Childhood Testing
is for infants enrolled in TTRP. If these students are eligible for this service, testing will evaluate school readiness when the time comes and identify any early needs or developmental challenges they may face in the future. NCC encourages parents and caregivers to actively take part in their children’s education through participation in early childhood programs and in Pre-K to ensure they remain on target as they grow and develop. Women Empowered to Succeed Program
offers them access to a program they may complete at their own individual pace. This is determined around their preexisting skill set and specific needs. This NCC program has 3 separate phases, each designed for an in-need woman to succeed and lead a life of stability and independence. It includes teaching basic computer skills, reviewing job interview techniques, discussing job readiness/career planning, healthy living/wellness and more. Other phases from Neighborhood Christian Center address things necessary for successful employment such as cover letters, proper work attire, or participating in mock interviews.
