Low income housing and support services operate across Pima County. They range from short term and emergency homeless shelters to transitional housing. Case managers and social workers from many of the non-profits will also help clients find and pay for new, affordable apartments and homes. A wide range of short term housing resources in Tucson as well as across Pima County are listed below. While there is often a waiting list for many of these programs, individuals can still apply. You may also be provided referrals to other regional low income or subsidized housing resources. Note that some of the organizations focus on veterans, the disabled, seniors, or children. So each and every agency will have a certain application process in place and that needs to be met. If you are homeless, or behind on your rent and facing eviction, then explore your options. Casa Santa Clara Transitional Housing

Those residents that use these resources will be required to work a part of a recovery program and make other commitments. In addition to the housing, they may also participate in job training and employment, counseling, and case management. This program is focused on offering shelter and transitional housing in several locations in the county for homeless veterans in need of help and affordable housing. Services can assist with locating permanent housing, including low income public and government subsidized housing.

Comin' Home

Access low income and/or free transitional housing resources as well as a homeless shelter. Also take part in re-integration classes. The non-profit also works with the Pima County based Sullivan Jackson Employment Center to help people find a job and increase their income.

218 E Prince Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705. Call (520) 888-1299 Various social services are offered. There is a homeless shelter, free hot meals, case management and counseling services. The Tucson Christian charity helps the poor, homeless and others in need.

Family Journey Transitional Housing - TMM

Address: 1550 N Country Club Rd, Tucson, Arizona 85716. Telephone number - (520) 322-9557 Low income housing for single mothers and their children who are homeless. Some units are for the disabled too. Apartments are furnished for residents. Also work with a specialist on finding a new, long term apartment and paying the rent on it.

Gospel Rescue Mission Center of Opportunity

4550 S. Palo Verde Rd., Tucson, AZ 85714. Call (520) 740-1501 The homeless can receive emergency shelter, meals, basic needs such as clothing, and other support. There is support for both women and males at this center.

Miracle Center

Location is 5527 E Pima St, Tucson, AZ 85712. Call (520) 327-1208 Women facing a crisis can access this faith-based residential facility. Some of the clients include those coming out of prison, domestic violence situations, and drug treatment centers. In addition to housing, receive counseling for trauma and substance abuse, support and mentoring, job preparation assistance, skills evaluation, budgeting, credit repair, and education.

Primavera Transitional Housing

200 E Benson Hwy, Tucson, AZ 85713. Call (520) 623-4300 or (520) 207-0387 Both short term shelter and transitional housing assistance is available. There are a few locations in Pima County. Men can receive housing that includes TV, washer, dryers, computer and phone. Also, case managers from the non-profit assist with obtaining clothing and hygiene kits, bus passes, and can even offer guidance and assistance with job search and applying for public benefits.

Pima County Independent Living Services

Main address is 630 E 9th St. Tucson, AZ 85705 Call the number at (520) 670-9040 Provides long-term transitional housing apartments for homeless young adults ages 18-25. Includes case management, employability and life skills training, and educational support.

Pio Decimo Transitional Housing

848 S 7th Ave Tucson, AZ 85701 Phone - (520) 624-0551 x110 Offers resources to the homeless and those facing imminent eviction. This includes transitional housing for families who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in the very near term.

SAFE Housing

Office address: 1021 N 11th Ave Tucson, AZ 85705 Dial (520) 792-1111 The agency offers case management and transitional housing to the poor, homeless adults and families. Some conditions include to enroll in the CASA I Program, those homeless adults without children must be working or have a referral from Jackson Employment. In addition, for the CASA II Program, homeless adults with children must be employed full time at a permanent job.
