Washington DC and the surrounding areas are served by several different HUD certified housing agencies. Call them to apply for free or low cost foreclosure counseling and prevention. They also offer individuals who need help several other resources assistance programs. Some of the other services provided include credit repair and debt management, advice on filing bankruptcies, and budgeting and financial assistance. These Washington HUD certified counseling agencies know that in order to help people get back on track with paying their mortgage and stopping a foreclosure, the underlying issues of that housing crisis need to be addressed.
