Arkansas Energy Network.

Working in partnership with non-profits, utility companies and other groups, the Arkansas Energy Network does what it can to help people pay their utility bills and get some form of relief. The organization started operation in the late 2000s and has helped thousands of families per year. There are multiple, local application sites as noted below. The Network will often act as an administrator for the funds raised by many of these other groups and non-profit organizations. All applications for assistance are taken locally.

  • network of intake sites are located across the state. The Arkansas Energy Network can ease the burden of receiving and also providing emergency energy assistance at these charity type organizations. As a matter of fact, there are over 100

local intake sites where trained workers meet with applicants . They answer questions, provide information and accept those applications if relevant. Not only that, but they have partnerships with different utility providers. This means they may be able to both provide more funding or even offer guidance on other solutions such as payment plans. The organization was set up as a 501(c)3 corporation. The main goal is to provide short term utility payment assistance to low income disabled or elderly Arkansans who are facing some form of financial hardship. Funding comes from different utility companies, their stockholders, concerned citizens, businesses and customers. If you can, please donate to the Arkansas Energy Network. The various utility and electric companies cover the administrative costs of the program. What this means is that 100% of your donated funds can be used for going to pay for customer assistance. Not only that, but many of the utility companies in the state will also match each donation, so it makes an even bigger impact. It is recommend that anyone that is struggling should call their utility company first. Many have some form of customer assistance program that can give help people enter into a payment plan or give people a few more days to make a payment on their account. However you need to call the provider right away. Do not wait until your bill is past due as by then it may be too late. The Arkansas Energy Network and its numerous community partner agencies strive to make a difference meeting the needs of the less fortunate, seniors and working poor. Many elderly and disabled in Arkansas are able to benefit from their programs.
